David Bateman is a Senior Managing Director – European Growth Capital of CCP, which will act as investment advisor to the Portfolio Manager. David has more than 20 years of experience in technology lending and financing. Prior to joining HMC in January 2013, he and Johan co-founded Benefide, a firm focused on originating specialty debt transactions on a deal-by-deal basis, closing eight transactions over an 18 month period. From 2002-2011 David was with ETV Capital, one of the leading providers of European growth loans at the time, where he was responsible for originating investments and served on the Board of the company and was an alternate on the company’s investment committee. Prior to ETV, David worked at Broadview International, where he spent 7 years originating and executing technology M&A and financing transactions. David earned a BA at Trinity College Dublin, a Diplomkaufmann from EAP-ESCP and a Masters in Finance at the London Business School. David is a citizen and resident of Ireland.
Johan Kampe is a Senior Managing Director – European Growth Capital of CCP. Johan has more than 22 years of experience in technology lending and financing. Prior to joining HMC in January 2013, he and David co-founded Benefide, a firm focused on originating specialty debt transactions on a deal-by-deal basis, closing eight transactions over an 18 month period. From 2005-2011 Johan was with ETV Capital, one of the leading providers of European growth loans at the time, where he was responsible for originating investments and was an alternate on the company’s investment committee. Prior to joining ETV, Johan was with Silicon Valley Bank, and co-founded the European subsidiary of the bank, SVB Europe Advisors, funding technology and growth businesses and backing venture capital funds. Prior to that, Johan worked with a startup company and various financial institutions, including Prudential and American Express. Johan earned BA in Finance and International Business from San Jose State University (Magna Cum Laude). Johan is a Swedish citizen.
Paul Bramley is the Chief Financial Officer of CCP. Paul has over 30 years of experience in financial markets, having spent the last 15 years as a CFO and COO in the alternative investment sector. Prior to joining CCP, Paul ran his own consultancy business for 4 years, providing financial, operational, risk and regulatory support to private equity and hedge fund managers looking to grow their asset base, launch new funds or enhance their infrastructure. Prior to this Paul was interim COO at Pillarstone Europe and COO of Eclectica Asset Management where he helped to double assets under management in two years to $1.3bn, through new fund launches and the setting of higher operational due diligence standards. From 2010 to 2012 Paul was COO (Asset Management) for Matrix Group, overseeing the operations and development of a £4bn diverse asset base. In this role he served as board director of several regulated entities. He started his career as an auditor with Arthur Andersen where he qualified as a chartered accountant before becoming European Treasurer for a mid-sized US fixed income house and subsequently, Head of European Cash Management for Merrill Lynch International. Paul has an MA from the University of Oxford and is a qualified corporate treasurer.
Hemal Rawal joined the team in 2019 to source and execute new investment opportunities across the UK and Europe, focusing mainly on high growth technology, FinTech and Life Sciences companies. Prior to joining, Hemal ran his own debt advisory business and was a portfolio manager for European venture debt at Global Growth Capital. He has extensive experience within the venture debt market and was one of the co-founders of the venture debt product at Barclays Corporate Bank. Hemal serves as an advisor to early stage business in the Technology and FinTech sectors helping them raise growth capital.
Bryan Mcloughlin is Vice President – European Growth Capital of CCP focuses on the origination, execution and management of investments. Bryan was a co-founder and Director at Aldermanbury Partners, a consultancy based in London, advising a diverse portfolio of clients from high growth firms to central government departments on strategic and investment decisions before joining the HEGC team in January 2014. Bryan was with Deloitte in London from 2006 to 2012 where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and supported financial services clients on acquisitions, integrations, and forensic investigations. Bryan graduated with a BA in Economics and Business Law from the University of Strathclyde.
Lyall Davenport joined the Claret Capital Partners (CCP) in March 2015. He assists the team across all aspects of the investment process and research related to the marketing of the fund. Prior to joining CCP, Lyall was the Director of Marketing at a start up in the United States, providing SME’s with marketing and analytics tools. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California, Berkeley where he studied International Business and Development.
Antony Baker joined the Claret Capital Partners in June 2017. He has responsibility across the full deal cycle and all aspects of the investment process, with a focus on sourcing, evaluating and executing investments in high growth companies across the Technology and Life Sciences sectors. Prior to joining CCP Antony worked at PwC in its Valuations business, having previously been part of its Insurance & Investment Management practice. He is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Manchester, where he studied Geography.
Daniel Mallon is an investment analyst in Claret Capital Partners. Prior to joining Claret Capital Partners in May 2019, Daniel was in the Corporate Finance department of Grant Thornton between 2018 to 2019. Daniel initially started his professional career in PwC Dublin where he received the ACA qualification with all first time passes. Daniel earned a Bachelor of Business Studies degree from Trinity College Dublin in 2013 and a Diploma in Corporate Finance from the ICAEW and CISI in 2018.
Kara Conway joined the team in 2021 as an Investment Analyst supporting deal origination, execution and portfolio management. Prior to Claret, Kara worked for HSBC in New York City and London across Leveraged Finance and Corporate Banking. Kara also co-founded an apparel company for breast cancer survivors, creating patented prosthetic designs. She graduated with honours from the University of Chicago with a BA in Economics.
Ruchir Shah, spent over three years at KPMG, where he specialised in financial due diligence for corporate and private equity clients. Ruchir joined Claret in 2021 as an investment analyst and focusses on supporting the investment team across the entire deal process, including deal origination and execution. Ruchir is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) and has simultaneously studied towards the CFA qualification (Level 3 candidate). In addition, Ruchir holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Warwick.
Evdokia Karakatsani is Portfolio Analyst – European Growth Capital of CCP. Evdokia joined the team in January 2019. She is focused on providing in-depth insight to influence the performance of the portfolio investments. Prior to joining, Evdokia worked at EY Greece in its Audit Department within the Financial Services Industry, specializing in the insurance and asset management sector. She holds a Masters’ Degree from the Queen Mary University of London where she studied Investment and Finance. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the Ethnikon and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where she studied Economics.
Momin Alnabahin, holding MSc in Accounting and Finance from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Momin spent over two years at Langham Hall (Fund administrator) where he progressed from a graduate position to an Assistant Fund Accountant, working primarily in the Private Equity Fund Administration team. He recently joined Claret Capital Partners as a Fund Accountant and will continue to pursue his ACCA (part qualified) and CFA (Level II candidate) studies.
