The Claret European Growth Capital Fund III (‘the Fund’), a fund advised by Claret Capital Partners, backs Zen Educate, a platform that connects schools with temporary, full-time and support teachers.

July 17 2023  Zen Educate, an online platform that connects schools with teachers, have agreed a debt financing facility led by the Fund, to support the London headquartered company’s continued acquisition plans.

Zen Educate operates across the UK and two states in the US. The online platform provides a reliable one-stop solution to fulfil both short and long-term school staffing needs, giving schools and teachers an online alternative to legacy recruitment agencies. It was founded in 2017 by Slava Kremerman and Oren Cohen who still remain as the top management in the business. Zen Educate work with over 1000 schools in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Leeds, across a broad range of schools from nursery up to senior school. Zen Educate has five offices based across the UK (in London, Manchester , Birmingham, Bristol and Cornwall) and the US.

Zen Educate’s mission is to change the world of education recruitment. Schools spend over £2bn a year on agency staff, with over £600m per year of that spent on fees that go straight to the recruitment agencies. Using their online platform, schools have access to thousands of profiles of fully vetted teachers and support staff, who they can book at a click of a button.

The Fund’s lending facility is intended to finance further legacy agency acquisitions given the success of their first acquisition of Inveniet Opus Ltd back in January 2023.

“We’re very excited to be partnering with Zen Educate as they continue their expansion in the UK and US markets.” said Johan Kampe, Managing Partner at Claret Capital Partners. “The management team have been great to work with and are bringing a tech first approach to a legacy agency staffing model.”

“Partnering with Claret Capital Partners marks a significant milestone in Zen Educate’s journey,” said Slava Kremerman, Co-Founder and CEO of Zen Educate. “Their unwavering support and strategic guidance will fuel our expansion efforts, allowing us to help more schools and educators, ultimately transforming the education sector.”
